SCULPTURE
Subarna's sculpture department features significant works ranging from carved wood, stone, and terracotta from the Gothic and Renaissance periods to Baroque and Classicism, originating from Italy, France, Portugal, and Flemish regions. Religious themes, including angels, putti, and depictions of the Virgin and Child, are especially prominent in Spanish sculptures from the 17th and 18th centuries.
Additionally, 19th-century sculpture holds an important place in our auctions, showcasing romantic and Belle Époque artists, eras known for their rich technical execution and intricate detailing. Modernist sculptures also tend to resonate strongly with our audience, with notable artists such as Eduardo Chillida, Miguel Ortiz Berrocal, and Josep Maria Subirachs frequently featured in our sales.
