Lot description

Bronze sculpture with stone base.
Signed by the artist and with the signature of Fundición Morales, Barcelona.
The original plaster work was exhibited at the Universal Exhibition of Fine Arts and Artistic Industries in Madrid in 1901, where it was awarded a medal, and a bronze version at the Paris Salon in 1903 (cat. no. 3.017). There was also a copy on display in the window of the shop of Masriera Foundry in Ferran Street of Barcelona. It was also praised by the Italo-Russian sculptor Paolo Troubetzskoy on his visit to Barcelona.
