Blue ink and pencil drawing on postcard.
Signed.
On the back, printed letters of the postcard "Unión Postal Universal", traces of gluing and a handwritten inscription, partially visible.
Stickers on each side of the perimeter.
This is one of the preparatory drawings that Picasso made for his masterpiece "La comida del ciego" (1903, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York), one of the few creations from his blue period, still in private collections in Barcelona, and which had been unlocated for years. The signature on the Zervos reproduction was a forgery, so it was subsequently removed (still very faintly perceptible) and Picasso signed it later, towards the late 1950's and early 1960's. This is why the work is shown to the public for the first time in colour and with Picasso's autograph signature.
