Lot description

Made of gold with rocaille decoration and heraldic coat of arms. The base was replaced in the early 19th century made of gold and golden metal, during the reign of George IV, with an insignia of the military order of St. Michael and St. George in gold with carved mineral additions; this intervention was probably done when the descendants of its first owner inherited the object. It was usual only to change the seal and its frame due to the new owner's change of the coat of arms.
There are slight dents and dirt on the gold.
Height 7 cm.
