Joseph Kinkonda, known as Chéri Chérin, (1955 en Kinshasa, en la República Democrática del Congo).
He depicts narrative scenes that often tell multiple stories simultaneously. Characterized by an exaggerated, cartoonish style, Cherin’s paintings primarily deal with contemporary socio-political issues in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
His work is featured in collections like the Pigozzi and the Foundation Cartier and his art has been exhibited in cities like Tokyo, Paris, London, Dusseldorf and Stockholm as well as being part of the travelling Africa Remix of 2004-2005.
